System Boundaries
What This Page Is For
Use System Boundaries to define systems, their framework scope, target baseline, assets, control applicability, and permissions.
Before You Start
- Run App Setup.
- Enable at least one framework in Framework Setup.
- Prepare asset data and system owner information.
Create a System Boundary
- Open System Boundaries.
- Select Create Boundary.
- Enter the required boundary name, owner, framework, and profile.
- Select the target baseline/profile. This sets the default Compliance Posture baseline, not the only baseline available.
- Select inferred control sets/domains if applicable.
- Save the boundary.
Import System Boundaries
- Open System Boundaries.
- Select Import CSV.
- Upload a CSV file.
- Map fields.
- Set framework/profile values from CSV columns or manually during import.
- Configure permissions.
- Submit the import.
Manage a Boundary
From the detail page, users can:
- Edit owner, data type, framework scope, target baseline, and scope statement.
- Configure FIPS 199 security categorization when CIA display is enabled.
- Add or remove control applicability.
- Add, import, or synchronize assets.
- Manage boundary permissions.
