System Boundaries

What This Page Is For

Use System Boundaries to define systems, their framework scope, target baseline, assets, control applicability, and permissions.

Before You Start

• Run App Setup.
• Enable at least one framework in Framework Setup.
• Prepare asset data and system owner information.

Create a System Boundary

1. Open System Boundaries.
2. Select Create Boundary.
3. Enter the required boundary name, owner, framework, and profile.
4. Select the target baseline/profile. This sets the default Compliance Posture baseline, not the only baseline available.
5. Select inferred control sets/domains if applicable.
6. Save the boundary.

Import System Boundaries

1. Open System Boundaries.
2. Select Import CSV.
3. Upload a CSV file.
4. Map fields.
5. Set framework/profile values from CSV columns or manually during import.
6. Configure permissions.
7. Submit the import.

Manage a Boundary

From the detail page, users can:

• Edit owner, data type, framework scope, target baseline, and scope statement.
• Configure FIPS 199 security categorization when CIA display is enabled.
• Add or remove control applicability.
• Add, import, or synchronize assets.
• Manage boundary permissions.
