Time to get hands-on. In this chapter you’ll log into your lab instance and stand up the uninstrumented healthcare assistant. This gives you a working baseline, and a firsthand look at the blind spot you’re about to eliminate.
Persona
As Careful Health Provider’s AI engineer, your first task is to get the assistant running
exactly as it exists today: functional, but with zero visibility into the agent’s
reasoning, quality, or safety. Everything you add next builds on this baseline.
You’ll deploy from the 1-base-app folder.
There is no Splunk Agent Observability code here yet. That’s intentional. This is the “before” picture you’ll transform over the rest of the workshop.
