Hardware and software requirements for the Splunk Add-on for Jira Cloud

You must have Jira Administrator global permission in your Jira Cloud instance so that you can configure Jira to send data to the Splunk platform over REST endpoints. See https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/manage-global-permissions/ for more information.

  • To fetch the Jira issues from the Jira cloud instance, you must have Browse Projects permission.
  • To create a Jira Issue using the Custom command or Alert Action, you must have Create Issues permission.
  • To update a Jira Issue using the Custom command or Alert Action, you must have Edit Issues permission
  • To transition a Jira Issue using Custom command or Alert Action, you must have “Transition Issue” permission

  • For Splunk Enterprise system requirements, see System Requirements in the Splunk Enterprise Installation Manual.
  • There are no additional Splunk platform requirements if you plan to run this add-on entirely in Splunk Cloud.
