Release notes for the Splunk Add-on for Okta Identity Cloud

New Features

  • Support for Okta Non-Interactive OAuth (Client Credentials Grant)

  • Added support for the Client Credentials grant type, enabling non-interactive OAuth authentication for Okta integrations.

  • Group Metrics Stats Toggle

  • Introduced a new checkbox option in the Group Metrics input configuration page to control whether group stats data (_embedded stats) should be extracted and indexed. This gives users flexibility over level of detail collected from group event data.

  • CIM Upgrade

  • Upgraded the Common Information Model(CIM) version from 5.3.1 to 6.1.0 to ensure compatability with the latest data models.

  • If signature_id doesn’t match any condition in props, the eventType value is assigned to signature_id.”

Breaking changes

Existing users will face some breaking changes in the CIM field extractions of sourcetype OktaIM2:app as this release contains major code enhancements:

  • Removed the tag user

Fixed issues

Version 4.0.0 of the Splunk Add-on for Okta Identity Cloud has the following fixed issues:

  • Rate Limit Validation

Added a validation check to ensure the configured rate limit percentage is not exceeded. - Account Deletion Validation

Added a safeguard to prevent deletion of configuration accounts that are currently in use by one or more inputs.
