Install Compliance Essentials

What This Page Is For

Use this page to install Compliance Essentials on a Splunk Search Head.

Before You Start

• Confirm you have permission to install apps on the Splunk Search Head.
• Confirm KV store is available.
• Install and configure the Common Information Model (CIM).
• Confirm the app package version you are installing.

Install Through Splunk Web

1. Go to Apps > Manage Apps.
2. Select Install app from file.
3. Upload the Compliance Essentials app package.
4. Restart Splunk if prompted.
5. Open Compliance Essentials.
6. Go to App Setup and run initialization.

Install From the File System

1. Extract the app package into /opt/splunk/etc/apps.
2. Restart Splunk.
3. Open Compliance Essentials.
4. Go to App Setup and run initialization.

Required After Install

After install, complete the Initial Setup workflow before using Compliance Posture or Control Health.
