Release notes for the Splunk Add-on for Okta Identity Cloud

Version 5.1.0 of the Splunk Add-on for Okta Identity Cloud was released on .

Compatibility

Version 5.1.0 of the Splunk Add-on for Okta Identity Cloud is compatible with the following software, CIM versions, and platforms.

Component Description
Splunk platform versions 9.x, 10.1, 10.2, 10.3
CIM 6.1.0
Platforms Platform independent
Vendor Products Okta API v1

New features

  • Added support for Splunk platform Python 3.13 runtime while retaining support for the existing Python 3.9 runtime.
  • Added Okta input observability metrics for parent and enrichment event counts, along with estimated indexed bytes.

Behavior changes

  • The default dispatch time ranges for the Okta lookup rebuild saved searches have been updated to avoid unintended full-history searches. Snapshot-style app, group, app-user, and group-member lookup rebuilds use -2d@d. The Okta2 user detail lookup rebuild uses -365d@d because oktaim2:user data is based on user lastUpdated changes. This can affect deployments that rely on a full-history user detail lookup rebuild. To keep a wider window, override the saved search earliest time in Splunk Web.

Fixed issues

Version 5.1.0 of the Splunk Add-on for Okta Identity Cloud contains the following fixed issues, if any.

  • Redacted confidential-looking sample PII from repository tests, knowledge samples, generated fixtures, and documentation.
  • Updated Okta lookup rebuild saved searches to avoid unnecessary full-history scans, remove group-member join truncation risk, and keep latest lookup state correct for app, group, app-user, group-member, and user-detail lookups.
  • Added troubleshooting guidance for account stanzas missing auth_type so hostname-resolution failures are easier to diagnose.
  • Updated compatible direct and transitive dependencies used by the release package.

Known issues

Version 5.1.0 of the Splunk Add-on for Okta Identity Cloud contains the following known issues, if any.
